Newspaper says 'criminal' before proven by the court.
a suspected criminal was killed and a Rapid Action Battalion official injured in a gunfight with Rab at Sharulia in the capital's Demra area yesterday. The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman Rubel, 28.
Daily star wrote "The injured -- Major SM Kamruzzaman of Rab-10 --was admitted to Combined Military Hospital in the city." but did not mentioned if the information is verified or not.
According to Daily star, acting on a tip-off, a team from Rab-10 cordoned off a two-storied building on Garden Road at Sharulia where Rubel used to spend nights, said Kamruzzaman when contacted.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the 'criminal' opened fire prompting them to fire back, which triggered a gunfight, he said. Later Rab recovered Rubel's body from the spot.
Rubel is an accused in five murder cases and several extortion cases, the Rab official mentioned. But the Daily Star could not confirmed the news. Total number of death reached to 1660.
